Happy Halloween!

Halloween for us was celebrated the Friday before. Since it was on Sunday that's of course when they trick-or-treat where we live. I didn't love the idea of my kids going out on Sunday so we ended up just going over to our church for the trunk-or-treat.
Bethany and Timmy posing in their costumes.
Sam was Boots the Monkey.
Bethany was Tinker Bell. She was NOT happy that I make her wear a shirt underneath her costume but I was eventually able to get a pretty good smile out of her.
Timmy was Wolverine and thrilled to have so many muscles.
Matthew was a Ghoul but then decided he was something out of Harry Potter so he had to have a staff.
Scott was a Twin Girl with his friend Kamren. One of the boys at the trunk-or-treat messed up Scott's hair and Andy took the picture before I was able to fix it but I'm sure you can imagine how cute he looked with his hair all done up! Boys! They crack me up!
Happy Halloween!

The Bears

I finally gave in and let Scott play tackle football. He absolutely loved it! He played a lot of different positions and is already talking about next year. He was on the team named the Bears. They won some, they lost some and I have to admit it was really fun to go and watch him play.

Bethany Finally Goes To School!!

Bethany has started her first year of preschool. And she was so ready she had been waiting for this for a long time. They have already gone on two field trips this year. Their first one was to the fire department.
This is the morning and afternoon class together playing what's hot and what's not.
While we were there the firefighters got a call and had to leave. The kids stood against the station and waved goodbye. Even though we didn't get the classic picture of sitting in the truck, it was fun for the kids to see them go out on a call with the sirens going.
Bethany's preschool class.
The second field trip we went on was to the Bi-Zi Farm. This is always one of my favorites. There is always so much to do and the kids love it.
They get to climb on a Hay Pyramid.
The get to go through a hay maze with a couple of tractor tires,
and a giant tunnel to climb through.
Then they get to go see the animals. This was Sam's favorite part. He found a baby goat and put his arm around it and wouldn't let go. It was just like one of his stuffed animals at home. We were finally able distract him by feeding the animals.
Bethany was really good at that. She loved feeding the goats.
Bethany with the calves.
Then they went on a hay ride to pick out pumpkins.
At first Sam just tried to throw all of the pumpkins like balls. Then he started to sit on all of them and ride them like a horse. Whatever keeps him busy!
Bethany loves preschool so much that she wants to go everyday! She is growing up way too fast!

Mr. Independent

Conference weekend I heard Sam get up and it was still dark out so I thought for sure he was just coming to get in bed with me. Then I heard the pantry door open and I jumped out of bed as fast as I could. But alas it was not fast enough.
I'm sure if he could have found a bowl he would have poured it in there since he has done that many times before(He just fills it to overflowing). Sam is very good at taking care of himself....so he thinks.
He loves to be outside and a few weeks before this the garbage men came and knocked on my door to tell me that there was a baby in only a diaper out in the street. Of course it was Sam-do I still know to this day how he got out-NO! I just have to make sure all of the doors are locked and bolted or Sam is gone. He is my busiest baby to date. Hopefully this next one won't feel so independent and wander away from home on his own.

A Beautiful Fall

We had beautiful fall weather this year. It hasn't been really rainy so far but it's on its way. This is supposed to be a really wet winter. So while it was so nice out the kids have been taking advantage of it.
When Sam goes outside he immediately finds the baseball helmet. Which is probably a good thing with the kids outside throwing baseballs and swinging bats.
Bethany just loves being out there with the boys and when the camera is out she is all smiles and poses.
Matthew showing me he can throw the ball on the roof and then catch it.
Timmy throwing the ball in the air and hitting it with the bat.
I was impressed with all of there "tricky" moves and was thrilled that they were outside. Pretty soon it will be dark at 5 and so rainy that they won't want to be out there at all.

Peaches, Peaches, and More Peaches

I came across a great deal on peaches this year. My friend Jen came over with Amy and my mom and we canned peaches all day and this was the result. I think there are 108 Jars there. We worked our guts out but this was the end result and in my opinion it was so worth it!!

First Day of School

Another year here at last! I had mixed feelings about my kids starting school this year. I was glad because I still didn't feel 100 percent so it was nice to have something for them to do to occupy their time but I'm always sad to see them go because I really enjoy having them around and spending time with them.
Scott is in 5th grade this year. His last in elementary school! YIKES!! I can't believe he will be headed off to middle school next year. He has grown up so much. He was embarrassed to have his mom and grandma walk him to school so he asked if I could please take his picture around the corner before we got there. So I was kind enough to take the picture before we got to school and let him walk ahead of me and his siblings.
Matthew is in 2nd grade this year and excited to be there. He couldn't be more different than Scott. He still hugs me in public and was thrilled to have his siblings and grandma walk him to school.
Timmy started All Day Kindergarten this year. He is just as excited as Matthew. He couldn't wait to be there and start this new adventure in his life!
Timmy immediately found one of his friends Stephen to stand in line with. (I think his friend was a little nervous! No real smiles from him!!)
Now that Scott is in 5th grade he gets to be part of the patrols before school. He loves it but I think it's just because he gets to be late for class!
Too bad Scott wasn't stationed on the other side of the street. My distant lens was broken and Scott was across the street trying not to look at me! So these pictures were the best I could do. It's so hard to have such an embarrassing mother!!
Happy 2010 School Year!
