Ben's a Walker!!

Ben took his first steps 3 weeks ago and I thought for sure he would just take off from there. But after walking a couple of times he refused to do it again until the day after Christmas.
Ben is now officially a walker!!
Way to go Ben!!

Christmas 2011

We woke up really early Christmas morning and were just going to let the kids open their presents from Santa and look in their stockings. Then before we new it Timmy had three presents from under the tree unwrapped. So we decided that we might as well get it over with and then get ready for church at 11:00.
Ben got an ice cream truck ball pit.
Sam got a remote control car.
Bethany got a Barbie car.
Timmy got the Bat Cave.
Matthew and Scott got boom chairs.
After we opened gifts we all got ready for church in record time. Bethany and Sam even had time to pose for a picture in their new church clothes.
After church Brent and Amy's family, Shareen's family, and Aaron Johnson came over to open presents from Grandpa and Grandma and spend the day together.
Ben and T.J. playing in the ball pit.
Exhausted after such an exciting day.
Scott got a really fun Lego game that we were able to play together. One of the challenges was to build a tower ontop of the last players legos. You start out with one and then the next player puts on two and so on. This was the tallest the tower got before it fell.
It was a great day filled with good times spent with family and friends. I'm so grateful for this season that we have to focus on the birth of our Savior. And was especially thankful that Christmas fell on Sunday. It was so nice to be able to go to church after opening presents, feel the Spirit and remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Eve 2011

Christmas Eve was full of great traditions that my kids love. We were sad because Brent and Amy's family was sick with the flu but my friend Shareen Williams, her kids, and Aaron Johnson joined us. First we had our big Christmas dinner. Then the kids dressed up and put on the nativity.
Timmy, Scott, Bethany, Samantha, Matthew, Ben, and Allison
After the program all the kids opened one gift containing pajamas or slippers. Then we sat around the kitchen table, the kids all lit their candles and took turns choosing their favorite Christmas carols to sing.
This tradition is always my favorite. I feel like singing the Christmas songs always brings the spirit into the home and I love sending my kids to bed Christmas Eve with that reverent feeling in their hearts and the knowledge of what Christmas is really about!
Merry Christmas!

Scott's 12th Birthday!

Scott and Brevin turned 12 this year! Since they are only a day apart we decided to celebrate together. Here they both are with their gifts waiting for Grandma to come home from chior practice so they can open them.
The anticipation is too much and Grandma is now 15 minutes late so Brevin and Scott got on their bikes and went to find Grandma! Finally! Scott and Brevin got the present of their dreams and it wasn't a barbie, it was a Kindle Fire!! They were both so excited especially since Scott thought he was getting slippers!
Happy 12th Birthday Scott!

Scott's Priesthood Ordination

Scott was so excited to turn 12 and receive the Aaronic Priesthood.
He is very worthy and ready to start taking on this new responsibility. The weekend after being ordained Scott was able to go to the temple with his youth group and participate in baptisms for the dead. He thought it was way cool and had a wonderful time. Andy and I love him and are so proud of him!!

December Activities

To kick off December we went to Bethany's annual preschool cookie exchange. This year someone special showed up! The kids were so excited to see Santa but I couldn't talk Bethany into sitting on his lap.
Bethany must have scared Sam because he was fine until he looked over at his sister and then decided my lap was the place to be!
This year both Timmy and Matthew made gingerbread houses at school.
Bethany wanted to come with me to help Matthew and his teacher was nice enough to let Bethany make her very own house!
