We Love Camping!

When we found out that Andy was going to get laid off at the beginning of the summer we had to cancel our vacation plans. Our kids were pretty disappointed to say the least but we were able to at least do some activities nearby. Since my kids love to camp that was one activity that was an okay second to our cancelled vacation plans.
Our biggest camping exertion was to the Lower Lewis River Falls. We went with Grandma and Grandpa and some friends so the trip was even better. It was nice to be able to have some more adults around and extra kids to keep everyone busy!

Right next to the campground there are some amazing waterfalls. So we took all the kids on a
3 1/2 mile hike to see all the great scenery.
Timmy, Scott, Sam, Sean, Allison, Camry, Bethany, Samantha, Matthew, Allysa
And Ben in the hiking backpack and as always happy to be there!

After the hike we needed to cool off so we all went wading in the VERY cold river on top of the Lower Lewis River Falls. I forgot to take a picture of that waterfall and it's the biggest waterfall of all. Oh well, it was a fantastic hike anyway and the kids had a great time!
And after the hike the kids were happy to have us dunk them in the river.

Besides hiking and swimming our kids were able to find lots to do just around the campsite.
Everyone loved the dutch oven dinners and of course good ole hot dogs!
The best part for Sam was that he got to play in the dirt and didn't even have to take a bath!
We love camping!!
