4th of July

I've been a month behind on everything since we got back from vacation. So here goes catching up (At least on my blog). I thought I would start with our trip to Utah. The day after we arrived in Utah was the 4th of July. We stayed with Jon in Layton and Hillary and her family came up to celebrate along with my Mom and Dad and Amy and her kids. It had been a long time since we had all been together and it was great to see everyone. The kids started the day off with a little run through the sprinklers and then they made up a game for us to play on Jon's full size volleyball court. It was a fun game and we all had a really good time playing it. Although the neighbors probably could have done without having to throw the ball back over the fence a million times.

After the game the kids went out and did pop-its in the front of the house. We had a barbeque and of coarse when it got dark enough we all sat out in front while Ryan and Jon put on a show for us. It was a great Utah fireworks show and my kids for the most part enjoyed it. Although Matthew asked me when they were going to start doing the real fireworks that go up in the air. Poor Matthew he is a little spoiled when it comes to living in Washington where most fireworks are legal. It was a good show anyway!

Bethany thought it was better to step on the pop-its rather than throw them.

That was a fun day. The kids had a great time together. Hopefully we will all be able to get together again next summer.
